10 good reasons you really want to apply to the App Star Awards

We received a lot of questions on the contest we are organizing with LeWeb for unreleased apps, the App Star Awards. Applications are now open for a few days, we received some awesome app, to be revealed soon. But some developers are anxious to understand better the interest of such an operation.

So here are 10 good reasons you really don't want to miss this opportunity

  1. Top exposure: even if you don't win, your app will be exposed. For winners your app will get in front of 1800+ top savvy internet users, journalists and bloggers at LeWeb.net. For free. no additional effort.
  2. Super fast and simple approval process: unless your app is already in the App Store, there is no limitation or conditions to apply. If your app is new, and unreleased you can apply.
  3. Views and reviews by a prestigious jury: your app will be viewed by some of the finest iPhone experts of the market. Michael Arrington, Robert Scoble, Louis Gray, Martin Varsavsky, Daniel Brusilovsky, Jeff Scott,....and you know how tough this is to get their attention
  4. Free quality feedback: you can apply even if your app is not finished. This is an ideal opportunity to get feedback and improve it before you launch
  5. Symbolic and cool prizes: with nearly no additional effort (since your app is already there) you might get a symbolic $1500 check and a free ad campaign
  6. Status and recognition: if you already have an app in the app store you know how difficult this is to get recognition. The app star is getting lots of buzz around (run a search on google or twitter). The advantage here is that you will get recognition before you even start in the App Store.
  7. Super Teasing: Teasing is a critical element in the launch process. If you do it well, you'll grab the attention and stimulate the desire to have your app installed.
  8. A good exercise for your future apps: we believe the process we created for the App Star is also good without the context of an app competition. Training yourself to make a nice efficient screencast to convince people to have your app is good anyway
  9. Free and Easy: did i say free already? if your app is close to ready the effort to jump in is close to zero
  10. Perfect timing: pre-christmas, your app should land on time for the heaviest period of the year on the App Store.
Bottom line: you have nothing to always and great things to win. If you have any question contact us on contact at appsfire dot com

1 more thing: if you are afraid to expose your app before you launch, think twice, to succeed you really need to get exposure asap. we have a detailed post on that matter
