FireCast: interview with SketchNation, App Star Awards Winner

Sketchnation by Ouriel Ohayon
(download)

We wanted to publish this interview before but since StetchNation (twitter @Sketchnation / blog here)   is not yet published in the App Store we decided to wait a little

Sketch Nation drew a lot of attention at our app competition, App star Awards last december, because it allows to create a sophisticated game very simply: but just drawing it. We we intrigued by the concept and reached out to Nitzan Wilnai (pic below), down in Silicon Valley to discuss his project. FYI the video demo above has been seen already close to 30,000 times. Not bad for an app unreleased!

Find out more in this 08 min interview

FireCast: interview with AppStar winner @HereFileFile

Herefilefile by Ouriel Ohayon

Here is a 8 min podcast with Adam Wulf from HereFileFile an upcoming app that one our App Star Awards.

The app, not yet released, and in particular the video demonstration were particularly impressive. Think of it like a MobileMe but without the necessity to have a mobileMe account

Here is the demo for a reminder (you'll hear in the podcast that this 30 sec clip took actually quite a while to produce...)

HereFileFile is a creation of Adam Wulf (@adamwulf) Benjamin Sherman (@ben_jamin_s) and Buck Wilson (@buckwilson)

The app should be available in Jan 2010 at Getap.ps/Herefilefile

Let's wait for it then :)

Firecast: interview with the iFog app founder, or how a successful app can nearly get you a Rolls Royce

We had the pleasure to meet and interview Barak Ben-Ezer from Libra Festival, the creators of the popular iFog app, the kind of app that uses creatively the iPhone resources to provide a fun and viral experience (like Ocarina)

He also explains us how they started, how they get the app successful (and cloned), what is their next step; and how it could nearly by them the Rolls you'll see on the video

iFog is a getap.ps partner and you can download the app on getAp.ps/iFog

Below a video demo of iFog if you don't know it yet

★ Firecast ★ discover the secrets of @ReaditLater

Appsfire is all about discovering apps and also the great developers who create them..

We had the pleasure to interview Nate Weiner (picture below), the creator and only man behind Readitlater one of the most popular iPhone apps and Firefox extension.

In this 10 min podcast (we call it FireCast) you'll learn how Nate started, not anticipating the massive success (X million users...) that was coming, his experience with the App Store, how he got featured in the spotlight section by Apple and much more.

Hope you'll enjoy it...

By the way if you are an app developer and want to share your experience with our readers, shoot us an email [contact at appsfire dot com ]

PS: if you liked it,  the soundtrack is TwitterTronic (composed with twitter notifications sounds)
