WaveBoard pushes Google Wave in an iPhone app (we have Wave invites btw)

We were waiting for it. There you go. It was first a desktop client. The iPhone app is now available on getAp.ps/WaveBoard

update: spotted by TechCrunch :)

unfortunately it's not a free app (no doubt it will be soon...). And it is kind of limited to taking the safari version in the browser to a client. for now (soon more i guess)

If you want a free alternative try the Safari based version. But mind the speed

Now if you ask me the Mockup of this virtual app made by Mockapp looks a little better. But it is just a mockup

PS: oh want an invite to wave? we have a few. drop a comment with your email
PS2: we sent all the invites. Now we just need to wait for Google to activate them

Google Wave iPhone App : looks better than wave on computer!

Nice job by Dotan from MockApp for the virtual demo. Will it become real? Better than via Safari in any case

Waveboard: an iPhone app for Google Wave, coming soon (via @orli )

There was already the safari based version, soon the desktop version which i guess will be better from a user experience point of view (made in germany according to the accent)

In the meantime there is a mac client to download here [tested it, nothing really different from the browser experience, which you could get by adding a fluid browser to your menu bar, but worth for the growl notification system]

The best apps from the Google wave iPhone room

If you have a Google wave invitation, there is a great active iPhone apps wave, where everyone list his favorite apps. The only problem is that it gets a little messy because there is no real visual elements and no one has the patience to add the itunes links.

Someone had the patience at the very top of the room to list all the apps mentioned in the wave and even asked for someone to create an Appsfire widget :) Which of course we did in a few clicks with our widget creator.

If you don t have an Google wave invite you can check this list below

below are the details with explanation

Games

  • Zynga Poker (Cause I'm addicted to FB poker hahah)
  • Peggle! (always been a classic game and the port to iPhone is perfect)
  • Dexter the Game (Love the series, absolutely mind-blowingly good game for the platform)
  • Spider - Secret of Bryce Manor (another great, involving and beautiful game which also makes great use of the platform)
  • Doodle Jump - Very simple and fun gameplay. This is the best game ever!
  • SandStorm - Closest you'll get to CoD4 on the iPhone
  • Ancient Frog - Beautiful and thoughtful puzzle game.
  • Canabalt - Simple game, awesome music and visuals.
  • Civilization Revolution -  Simple & extremely addictive.
  • WordAce - Texas Hold 'em meets Scrabble.  Great online multiplayer component. FREE!

Social

  • Tweetie 2 - lots of nice UI updates, and it feels snappier than the previous version.
  • Yammer - Good corporate Twitter clone (private, encrypted, searchable history, Web + iPhone + Adobe Air clients)
  • TweetDeck - Because I give a shit where my friends are at any given moment.
  • Twitterrific( I prefer Tweetie 2 ) (CBF paying for a Twitter client, tried Tweetdeck for a while but prefer Twitterrific. Great interface)
  • Ping(cause I like being able to send free messages from iPhone to iPhone)

Productivity

  • Evernote certainly rocks for note-taking. I've gotten into the habit of using it for taking post-meeting snapshots of the whiteboard.
  • Air Sharing (i used to use it but found better options) Ooh... do tell? please do

Utililty

  • NetNewsWire - loved the previous version but 2.0 needs work; they recently stopped syncing with newsgator (which I rarely had problems with) and migrated to google reader. 2.0 is now slow to sync, and many times sync actually fails. That said, I have faith that updates will bring this app back to life.
  • Prowl - Pushes Growl alerts from your desktop to the iPhone.
  • Pandora - Cuz it rocks
  • Air Mouse (Cause I like being able to control the PC from the couch while watching movies)

Music

  • Shazam (so that I can tell straight away what the name and artist of a song is)

Travel

  • iBart/iCalTrain for local train schedules
  • MotionX GPS Sport - For storing GPS tracks.
  • Yelp - I use this frequently to track down places to eat.
  • Google Earth - A bit weird on the controls, but works great!
  • HeyWAY (great way to share location. Pro allows you to add messages. Good interface, me and my mates have fun with it. Nothing quite like getting aHeyWAY notification from your friend telling you he's "pooping")

Misc

  • USAA - My banking app *lets you deposit checks by taking pictures of them with the iPhone's camera*
  • Brightkite/4Square - Because someone must give a shit where I am at any given moment.

Did you know it? you can wave from your iPhone, but..

1. you need an invite (mmm...)

2. the experience is not that great (slowness, no real time typing,...)
3. still a little confusing even for advanced users.

Good to know however..just point safari to wave.google.com [ignore the browser warning and go ahead]
